There is probably no better contemporary band to play on and put together a cover album of The Beatles' 1967 classic album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band than The Flaming Lips. Their compilation, With a Little Help from My Fwends, will feature tons of big names performing songs from the original LP.
The album, which drops Oct. 28, will include performances by My Morning Jacket, Dr. Dog, Phantogram, Tegan & Sara, Miley Cyrus, Grace Potter and Foxygen, among others, Consequence of Sound reports. Proceeds from the album will go to the Bella Foundation, a charity in The Flaming Lips' hometown of Oklahoma City that helps terminally ill elders pay for veterinary expenses for their pets.
On the album's Pledge Music page, fans can buy exclusive packages like a signed CD, signed vinyl, posters, clothing and more. Pledging for any of the items gets buyers and instant download of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" recorded by Miley Cyrus and Moby (see entire tracklist below).
