During a Philadelphia show on Oct. 8, Neil Young brought some bad news out of the blue and crushed the hopes of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young fans.
"CSNY will never tour again, ever ... but I love those guys," he told the sold-out crowd.
Naturally, these remarks made their way to former bandmate David Crosby, who — to fans' chagrin — confirmed Young's statement on Twitter:

When a follower asked what the problem was, Crosby explained: "he is very angry with me ...."

As previously reported by our own Shawn Christ: CSNY last toured in 2006, and the group also did a set at Young's Bridge School Benefit last year. The band played 1977's "Just a Song Before I Go," 1974's "Human Highway" and a then new Stephen Stills tune "Don't Want Lies." Other songs from the set included "What Are Their Names," "Deja Vu" and "Long May You Run," among others.
"'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes' demonstrated that although Stills' singing voice isn't what it used to be, his guitar playing is unmatched," Rolling Stone wrote about the concert. "He hasn't shared a stage with Young since the Buffalo Springfield tour ended prematurely in 2011. Any harsh feelings that caused seemed to be over, and the old friends repeatedly locked in together on their guitars."
Also from Christ: In July, CSNY released a deluxe box set with live cuts from their 1974 reunion tour. "This is the most difficult project I've ever done in my recording life," Graham Nash told RS. "That's largely because of other people's agendas and trying to please four people at the same time. It only took us a year to actually do the physical work, but it took three or four years to get that work together."
