The iPad Air 2 is actually 18% thinner than its' predecessor and has officially been dubbed "the world's thinnest tablet" by Apple's Phil Schiller. Techies in attendance this morning were treated to a video that acknowledged last years' iPad air before rattling off a multitude of improvements that have been made to present users with a fully stocked iPad Air 2.

Besides making it thinner, Apple of course included its' usual kind of upgrades such as including the newest A8 processor and M8 coprocessor, making it 12 times more powerful than the original iPad. The new iPad Air 2 also includes Touch ID that allows users to login via fingerprint. Touch ID also includes the option of enabling Apple Pay which can be used for online purchases. Ipad Air 2's front facing camera has gotten upgrades so that it is now considered the Facetime HD camera of choice. Ipad Air 2 also has a back camera that is an 8MP iSight camera (f/2.4 aperture) that does 1080p video, cool panorama shots, burst-mode, and auto HDR The display remains the same size at 9.7-inches.

When it comes to connectivity, iPad Air 2 is still stocked with all of the standard WiFi necessities and Bluetooth 4.0. The iPad Air 2 comes in three different styles: silver, space grey and gold. As usual, you can choose from a few different price ranges to meet your needs: 16GB ($499), 64GB ($599) and 128GB ($699) and an additional $130 for LTE instead of WiFi-only. P re-orders supposedly begin tomorrow and the iPad Air 2 is scheduled to begin shipping next week.
