Former MMA fighter, Jonathan Koppenhaver's current reality must have finally sunk in. War Machine, as he is known, is currently jailed in Nevada on attempted murder charges based on a beating that he admittedly unleashed on former girlfriend, Christy Mack late last August. War Machine is facing a potential life sentence in connection with the 32 felony charges that have sprung from the violent incident and on Tuesday he apparently tried to take his own life in his Nevada jail cell.

According to TMZ's report after speaking with law enforcement,

"Tuesday night around 9:30 an officer was walking by War Machine's cell in Clark County Jail. The officer saw him sitting on the ground with his feet up on the bunk bed. When the officer called to him he was unresponsive. The officer went into the cell and found the ex-MMA fighter had a piece of linen around his neck which was tied to the leg of the bed -- and his face was purple. The officer cut the linen, removed it ... and we're told War Machine's breathing became less strained and he attempted to speak."

War Machine is currently in a medical isolation cell on a suicide watch. A few weeks ago a jail house letter written by War Machine leaked to the press and in it he claimed that Mack got off lucky that he didn't kill her. He claimed that if they had been in a different state he could have killed her and gotten off for it being a crime of passion- something that still has legal repercussions.

Do you think that War Machine tried to end his own life because he realizes that his own freedom is looking highly unlikely? Should he be sentenced to life for his brutal attack on Mack? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
