New York electro-pop duo Phantogram released its new single, "Black Out Days," yesterday. It's the first new song we've heard since the 2011 EP, "Nightlife."

The duo, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, announced they were working on a new full-length, sophomore album back in June.

"Black Out Days" is just what you'd expect to hear from Phantogram, and it doesn't disappoint. It starts with a choppy "eh eh eh" intro, (similar to the intro on "Don't Move") which is layered with a variety of smooth vocal loops. Works nicely a top the steady, buzzing, synth-fueled beat that highlights Barthel's soulful voice. All in all, the track has that sexy, haunting feel that we are used to with Phantogram's music.

They duo has not yet announced a release date nor a title for the forthcoming album, but we will be on the look out.
