It is Halloween, the bona fide spookiest day of the year, and Arcade Fire celebrated not by dressing up in elaborate costumes (the band does that anyway) but by releasing its own short horror film. Today (Oct. 31), the "Reflektor" band released the 21-minute movie Festi on its YouTube page, featuring The National, Fleet Foxes, James Murphy and Andrew Garfield.

Festi begins simply enough, with the first few minutes of the movie giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at Arcade Fire's 2011 festival tour in support of the GRAMMY-winning album The Suburbs.

But, soon, things take a spooooooky left turn. You see, it's member Will Butler's 27th birthday and - as all rock 'n' roll fans know - that is a dangerous age to be a musician. Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrisson all tragically died at 27, and the latter is out to make Butler the next rock casuality.

What ensues next is a bloodbath of sorts, with backstage and tour managers dying left and right. All the while, Butler is on the run from the ghost of Jim Morrison, collecting fellow Arcade Fire members along the way.

Eventually, all is well, and he is saved by none other than rock legend "Slash," who uses his sweet "Sweet Child of Mine" guitar licks to chase Morrison away.

As mentioned, Festi features cameos from The National (creepy twins), Fleet Foxes ("bearded singers"), James Murphy (sad DJ), Andrew Garfield (Spiderman) and even Peter Gabriel, who appears at the very end of the film as a security guard.
