Grand Theft Auto V is known for its unique plotlines and enticing smorgasbord of virtual thuggery, thievery and sex, but the video game franchise has also turned itself into a music juggernaut, with several radio stations available within the game that include original productions by prominent artists.

Given the amount of fresh audio the game produces, Rockstar decided that a box set of tunes from GTA V would be a good idea. Pitchfork reports that the collection will include 59 tracks, including music from A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Twin Shadow, Wavves, Flying Lotus and Yeasayer, with an original score from Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, the Alchemist and Oh No.

CDs and vinyl options will be available with some enticing add-ons (booklet, poster, USB). The Music of Grand Theft Auto V is officially out Dec. 9, while the game will drop on Nov. 18.

Pitchfork sat down with Flying Lotus to discuss the soundtrack.

"I wouldn't want to get involved with a game that's a stinker-I can smell one of those a mile away," he said. 'That's why I haven't done too much of that stuff, though I've been asked. It's the same s--- with movies: You've got to try and find the right things, because once you start saying you want to work on something, people are like, [affected dumb voice] 'Oh, I've got a movie.' Then you do some research and find out it's a stinker. But GTA is not a stinker, my friend."

FL also had a few speaking roles in the game.

"I was in the right place at the right time," he said. "They were wrapping up some scenes in the game, and I was in New York, and they found a part for me that's in the story. I play some gangsta-ass motherf---- from the hood [laughs], and there's a scene where I'm playing basketball. When I recorded my lines, they had this headset that they put on you to capture all your facial features and everything, so they got my face. It's super weird. That's another reason why I wanna beat the game, so I can see how I'm represented in polygons."
