Roger Waters told Rolling Stone that he was working on a new album, that for the time being was titled "Heartland." Waters wouldn't give any details (the Pink Floyd bassist usually has some concept behind his work), but he says that he has his mind set on this one.

"I've had a very, very strong idea and I shall pursue it," he said, noting that he already had one song finished. "I will make at least one more record and I am really looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into it."

Waters last released a studio album in 1992 with "Amused to Death," and has since made the rounds touring with his solo version of "The Wall," and working with other projects, including the 2005 opera "Ça Ira."

The focus of Rolling Stone's story however was that Waters acknowledged he had done his former Pink Floyd bandmates wrong when he sued them during the early '80s.

"I was wrong," Waters told the BBC, in somewhat of a surprising move from the obstinate frontman. "Of course I was. Who cares?"

Quite a few people care in fact. His admission of guilt is probably the brightest beacon of hope for a Pink Floyd reunion that fans have seen in years. There was a tremendous rift between Waters and his fellow Floyd bandmates (guitarist David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason) following the 1987 settlement, but other recent events have suggested that the trio are back on the same page, or at least on speaking terms. The three played together at the 2005 Live 8 concert, and Gilmour and Mason joined Waters for a few of his "The Wall" tour dates in 2011. Still, Gilmour and Mason have denied any interest in a reunion.

But we can still hope.
