Miranda Lambert is nominated for nine awards (!) at Wednesday's CMAs, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year (Platinum).
"When you see your name for nine nominations, it's really shocking," she told KTIC. "And I didn't even think I'd done enough in the last year to acquire that or could be in the categories, but then I started thinking about everything I've done since November last year, and I'm going, 'Dang, I was busy,' you know.""
Speaking with Taste of Country, Lambert said she'll be using her skyrocketing fame to showcase fellow female artists in the coming months.
"I'm taking my friends, artists that are friends of mine out on tour next year - RaeLynn, Ashley Monroe, Sunny Sweeney, Danielle Bradbery," Lambert said. "I just want to bring them to the forefront, 'cause I think we're just really missing something right now, and there's so many amazing, talented females out there and if I can have any part in them getting heard, I want to."
Of course, Lambert has been making headlines for negative reasons thanks to a troubled marriage with fellow star Blake Shelton, who went on 60 Minutes this weekend and further stirred up divorce rumors by not mentioning his wife.
"Gosh dang, man, I hear about it all the time," Shelton said. "You know, 'It's the same subject matter over and over again,' and, 'All y'all sing about is' you know, 'Pretty girls,' I like pretty girls and I like drinking and I like singing about it. So get over it. It's not just our music, I think, that people feel like they can relate to. But it's us. It's the artists that they feel like they can relate to. I know for me when I go home I hunt, I fish, and I plant corn, and I drive back roads. I literally do the things that I sing about."

Now that Shelton is back in L.A. working on The Voice it just means more time apart too because Lambert hates the whole Hollywood scene and refuses to tag along while he works on the left coast. She also decided to whip herself into shape about a year ago and now lives a clean lifestyle that includes a serious diet and no booze. Shelton still drinks like a fish and has no intention of sobering up the way that his wife has and that means that even when they are together they no longer relax in the same ways.
