Trance king and dance music heavyweight Armin van Buuren is coming back to New York City. This time for a one-night event, he will be headlining a pre-NYE show at Pier 94 on December 29.

He was last in NYC headlining Saturday of the much-maligned Electric Zoo festival and now will be making a return to the city that never sleeps. Van Buuren has a storied history with New York City, especially in recent memory, taking over Madison Square Garden for his A State Of Trance 600 celebration with his friends Ferry Corsten & Markus Schulz (New World Punx), W&W and Alex M.O.R.P.H. Then earlier this year in April, his Armin Only Intense tour came back to Madison Square Garden with a full compliment of dancers, singers, trampolinists and even his brother in a band.

Pier 94 has been the venue of choice for RPM Presents and Pacha NYC for their large indoor massives during holiday weeks, like Halloween and New Years Eve. Disclosure will have the honors of headlining the venue on New Years Eve, but in what is being dubbed Big Week NYC via a press release, Armin van Buuren will now join the cast of top-flight DJs who will perform on the Pier in the festive lead up to the biggest party night of the year.

Not many other details have emerged yet about the show, including start or end time and who may be playing with Armin van Buuren. Tickets go on sale at 3 p.m. this Friday, November 7 on bigweeknyc.com. This won't be the last of the large announcements coming for Big Week NYC, but if the inclusion of Armin van Buuren is any indication, expect fireworks the rest of the way. Listen to his latest single "Hystereo" to get you ready for the occasion.
