Glen Hansard just announced a 10-city U.S. tour for 2015.

The 44-year-old "will be performing songs from throughout his career," a press release said.

That includes his best-known work from the movie Once — "Falling Slowly," which won an Oscar — and other stints with The Frames and The Swell Seasons. Hansard also has a solo album — 2012's Rhythm & Response — to work from.

According to Consequence of Sound, Hansard's backing musicians will include bassist Brad Albetta (Rufus & Martha Wainwright), keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman, The National) and string musician Rob Moose (yMusic, Bon Iver).

Here are the newly announced dates:

2/2/15: Birmingham, AL @ Iron City Theater
2/3: New Orleans, LA @ Civic Theater
2/5: Ponte Verde, FL @ Ponte Verde Music Hall
2/6: Orlando, FL @ The Social
2/8: Charleston, SC @ Charleston Music Hall
2/9: Charlotte, NC @ The Knight Theater
2/10: Washington, DC @ The Lincoln Theater
2/12: Cleveland, OH @ Trinity Cathedral
2/13: Bloomington, IN @ Burkick Theater
2/14: Milwaukee, WI @ The Pabst Theater

Once is now a Broadway hit, but Hansard was uncomfortable with the idea of a play at first.

'''I was against the idea of a theatre play at the beginning because I just thought like, with anything that's special to you, anything that you created with friends, you hate to see it taken and misinterpreted,'' he told the Sydney Morning Herald in February. ''I assumed it would be. I'd never seen Broadway theatre, I've never been to the West End, or any of that stuff and I was definitely suspicious of it. And when I went to see some Broadway event, it kind of was what I thought: taking a story and turning it into a song and dance and part pantomime.''

But in a totally relatable turn of events, some advice from Bono changed things.

''Bono said, 'They are putting your f--king film on stage, you better get involved because if you don't and they f--k it up it reflects on you, so pick up that phone and get involved,''' Hansard said. ''So I said to the producer, 'Whoever you cast, please let me spend time with them, talk to them about where I might have been when I wrote the songs, how to sing them. That might be helpful.'''
