Chris Brown took home two big honors last night (November 7) at the Soul Train Awards, winning Best Collaboration and Best Hip-Hop Song for "Loyal."

According to Billboard, Brown, who went into the event with seven nominations, opened the show with some hits including "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)," "New Flame" and "Loyal."

Performances for the night focused on the past with acts like Nico & Vinz, 3WB and We Are Toonz. The highlight came when JoDeCi made a surprise appearance, performing their 1995 hit "Freek'n You." The group, which features K-Ci, JoJo, DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin, also played "Stay" and a new tune titled "Nobody Wins" with B.o.B. The audience joined in on the closing numbers "Come and Talk to Me" and "Forever My Lady."

Back in February, producer Timbaland revealed that he's working with the '90s R&B crew on a comeback album. "By the way, people who follow Timbaland from day one, I met with Devante and I'mma help work on the new Jodeci album. Just for y'all to know," he said in a video. "I ain't really supposed to say that but I will be working on the new Jodeci album. And, that will be my career coming full circle, working with Devante again."

The group hasn't released a new album in close to 20 years, with their last being 1995's The Show, the After Party, the Hotel. "No way does the sex on this concept album recall Prince or Marvin Gaye--spiritually, its precursors are Kiss and Judas Priest. Rather than lust between equals, it's powerful men manipulating starstruck girls," Robert Christgau wrote about the album for The Village Voice.

The Soul Train Awards will air November 30 on BET.
