Fox's "Glee" will undergo major changes next season as original cast members Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) would not return for Season 5.

Mstars previously reported on the changes here.

Jane Lynch, who plays Sue Sylvester on the show, commented to TVLine about the cast changes and was level headed about the whole situation.

"That's the nature of portraying a realistic view of high school: Kids graduate. They move on," Lynch said. "I like that we're following some of the kids to New York where they're trying to make it as actors and actresses. But the show will evolve, and when a show evolves that means you have to let some people go, and let some storylines go, so that you can pursue new ones."

Lynch's character was banned from the McKinley High School campus after she lied and said she fired a gun in the school. She protected one of her students, Becky, who has Down Syndrome and actually fired the weapon.

Despite that, Lynch expects to be around for Season 5:

"[I'll] figure in the plot somehow, since I am coming back. But how will I be allowed back? Your guess is as good as mine."

Could one of those plots be a trip to New York to see Rachel, Kurt and Santana?

"It doesn't matter what I envision - it's what they come up with," Lynch said. "And they've come up with some really interesting things for me [in the past]. I wouldn't be surprised. It wouldn't shock me. But I certainly haven't heard anything about it."
