Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Will Butler has announced the release of his debut solo album Policy (that's the album cover up above). According to a tweet sent out by Arcade Fire Tube, the album is set for release on March 10 through Merge Records, who have also released all four Arcade Fire albums.

Butler recently performed a solo set in Brooklyn, featuring songs that will presumably be included on Policy (no tracklist has yet been revealed). You can check out some videos from that show right here:

Outside of Arcade Fire and his solo work, Butler has also written music for films. He composed the score to the Spike Jonze film Her with Canadian musician (and Arcade Fire collaborator) Owen Pallett, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Score.

"It was intense, because there were a lot of creative forces at work," Butler told The Tennessean of his original score for Her. "Everyone in the band is so particular, and then Spike is also very particular, and in this case, Spike had the last word, because it was his movie [laughs]. So it was interesting navigating that world."

"And it's funny, because movie's aren't good until they're finished," Butler continues, "If you see a movie without music, you're like, 'Oh, this movie kind of sucks...' At the very last minute it all comes together, and you're like, 'Oh, this is a really good movie!'"

Arcade Fire's most recent album Reflektor was released back in Oct. 2013. It was the Montreal group's fourth full-length album, and spawned four singles: "Reflektor," "Afterlife," "We Exist," and "You Already Know."
