The UK got its first lineup announcement, of sorts, for the 2015 festival season as the organizers for the Reading and Leeds Festivals provided at least a small morsel of what to expect from the twin events during 2015: Metallica, Jamie T and Run The Jewels (via NME) will be among the acts appearing at the events, which will take place between August 28-30, making this a rather early announcement. Glastonbury hasn't so much as played with our minds, although that event will take place nearly two months earlier than the Reading event. Get tickets while they're hot.

The announcement marks a continued reign of interest for Metallica within the UK festival scene, as the band was certainly the most discussed headliner at the Glastonbury festival last year due to controversy over whether "heavy metal" belonged at such events. This won't be the first stop at Reading and Leeds for the thrash icons however, as they previously headlined the festival as recently as 2008.

Jamie T might not ring as many bells for American listeners but he's a huge hit with our friends across the pond. He actually appeared at the Reading event last year, performing a secret show that quickly drew a crowd when fans caught wind of what was up.

Other performers announced thus far include Run The Jewels (as mentioned), Manchester Orchestra, Refused and Pierce The Veil, although Metallica has been the only official "headliner" confirmed.

Last year's event featured headlining slots from the Arctic Monkeys, Blink-182, Queens of The Stone Age and Paramore
