It has only been a few months since releasing the critically acclaimed Mo' Beta Blues, and Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson of The Roots is at it again with the Soul Train chronicle, Soul Train: The Music, Dance, and Style of a Generation.

His work is described on Amazon as a "vibrant book commemorating the legacy of Soul Train - the cultural phenomenon that launched the careers of artists such as Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5, Whitney Houston, Lenny Kravitz, LL Cool J, and Aretha Franklin."

?questlove spent the majority of his childhood studying the show, and his memories serve as the backdrop to his retelling.

"To me, just the introduction of Soul Train, probably the craziest thing I could ever do, I could sit and watch all 1,100 episodes of just the intros of Soul Train," ?uestlove told NPR. For me the show is over once they say, 'And now, here's your host, Don Cornelius.' Anything after that is gravy."

Nick Cannon wrote the book's preface while Gladys Knight contributed its forward.  The book is due out Oct. 22 through Harpers Design but is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
