If something works, don't go changing it. It's a common maxim that MTV is employing during its planning of the MTV Europe Music Awards. The network announced on October 17 that Miley Cyrus, who was the "highlight" of the summer's VMAs, would be performing at the European event as well. Cyrus had been drawing headlines for her bad-girl behavior prior to the event, took the pop culture moment of the year when she began grinding all over vocalist Robin Thicke, and seemingly mimicked pleasuring herself with a giant foam "no. 1" finger. And that was in New York City. Imagine what she could do in Amsterdam, the host of this year's EMA ceremony.

In other words, most of the upcoming ceremony, which will air in the United States on November 10, will be exactly the same as its counterpart across the pond. Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the nominations charge with five apiece. Cyrus and co-morality disruptor Thicke are close behind with four nominations. The event will be hosted by former LMFAO member MC Redfoo, and Ariana Grande will help out with interviews backstage. The only true journalist at the event will be Ron Burgundy, played as ever by Will Ferrell. Most of the stories coming from the event correctly reflect that there won't be too much spotlight on actual talent from Europe.

Cyrus's MTV antics, including the music video for "Wrecking Ball," certainly paid off in promoting her recently released album Bangerz, which more than doubled the opening sales of her previously record Can't Be Tamed.
