Remember that time when KISS frontman Paul Stanley was the face of Folgers Coffee (sans makeup)? It's okay if you don't because no one does. The singer appeared in a TV spot back in 2000, but it never aired. After watching the commercial, which recently surfaced on the Internet, it's easy to understand why it never saw the light of day.

As Ultimate Classic Rock reports, the audio from the commercial has been around since 2008. Stanley sings a corny jingle over what sounds like an accordion. Guitars come in for the classic tagline, "The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup." The visual is a concern though. Stanley strolls into a circus tent as an acrobat gets ready to perform a stunt on a trapeze.

"Folgers stirs inside of me, and I know what I can be / The limit is the sky, hey, world watch me fly," he sings as the acrobat nails the move. Then Stanley waves his arms like a magician and he's gone. Someone came to the pitch meeting severely underprepared for this one.

Apparently, Paul never thought the commerical was a bad idea. He has talked about it before, saying, "Why not? I wasn't at all concerned with who thinks it is okay or not okay, cool or not cool, rock 'n roll or not. I had a blast doing it and isn't that what this is all about?"

KISS finished a summer tour in September with Def Leppard, and now they are trekking around places like Japan, Germany, France and Spain. See all the dates here.
