Nick and Vanessa Lachey Welcome Daughter Brooklyn Elisabeth to the Family

Vanessa and Nick Lachey are starting off 2015 with the best gift of all a new baby. Vanessa took to her personal blog this morning to confirm that she gave birth to a daughter yesterday, making 2-year-old Camden officially a big brother. Mom and baby must be doing great because less than 24 hours after delivery, Vanessa was ready to share her joy.

Vanessa wrote:

"She's HERE!!!! Nick, Camden and I are SO excited to announce the birth of our sweet, beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey! She was born January 5th, 2015 at 5:17pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces, is 21 inches long and has already won over all of our hearts.

"I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember, the day I was going to meet my little girl. A friend recently told me how magical today was going to be because it's the day I would meet my best friend. I can't even begin to tell you how it felt to hold her in my arms for the very first time. Mommy, Daddy and big brother Cam love you so much already, Brooklyn!

Vanessa has worked as a model, a host and and entertainment correspondent but she has devoted the majority of her time these last few years to raising her son. She and her husband Nick first got together way back in 2006 after she appeared in his music video for "What's Left of Me" (a song about his split from first wife, Jessica Simpson) and then dated for a few years before briefly splitting in 2009. By 2011 they were married and happily cementing their life together. They've talked about wanting a family from the very beginning so the arrival of little Brooklyn must have sent them over the moon with joy.
