Next week, Ty Segall will be dropping his new EP Mr. Face, but today the California garage rock wizard has shared the EP's title track through the Famous Class Records Bandcamp page, which you can check out below. The sound of the track comes off as a cross between Segall's last two solo albums Manipulator and Sleeper, being largely acoustic and percussion free — at least until the end — but definitely not mellow in any way. If the rest of the EP is as good as this, then it is definitely worth your money.

Segall's Mr. Face EP is set for release Jan. 13 and is being billed as the world's first playable pair of 3-D glasses, pressed on two, 7-inch records you can look through to see a 3D image on the record sleeve. You can pre-order the record here, but if you are not into that Jack White-esque vinyl trickery and just want a digital download of the EP instead, you can pre-order it now through Bandcamp and get an instant download of the title track.

Ty Segall's most recent album Manipulator was released in August through Drag City and was his seventh solo album overall, his first since 2013's largely acoustic Sleeper.

Segall's song "Feel" from Manipulator was recently chosen by the Music Times staff as one of the 25 best songs of 2014. You can check out that complete list here.
