Fans of RHOA always seem to have a solid opinion of NeNe Leakes. Either you love her candidness or cannot stand her arrogance, but either way, she generally will get a reaction out of everyone. Usually, when we hear about her it is either in connection with other work projects or it is because of some sort of cat fight with other cast members. There is so much fluff there that strategically hides the fact that this woman is dealing with some serious issues just like everyone else. One of those issues is that she kept the incarceration of her son Bryson Bryant hidden.
According to various reports, Leakes's oldest son Bryson has not only been struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, but then tweaked out on meeting with his probation officer. Ultimately, Bryant ended up sitting in jail.
"Recently unearthed court documents reveal that, last September, a Georgia judge sentenced Bryson to three months in jail for a probation violation. The trouble began in June 2013, when he was charged with reckless driving and a DUI after crashing his car. Bryson, dad of 2-year-old Bri'Asia, was sentenced to one year of probation plus 30 days house arrest, but he failed to meet with his probation officer on four occasions.
"Even worse, he tested positive for cocaine during mandatory drug testing, skipped his court-required driving school and refused to pay a $1,200 fine, leaving prosecutors no choice but to revoke his probation and send him to jail last fall. After his release on Nov. 25, Bryson was sentenced to at least six weeks of 'intensive' rehab and may still be receiving treatment," said the source.
Supposedly, Leakes tried to keep her son's incarceration to herself because she hates when the media gets a hold of a negative story and runs with it. Leakes has also had her own legal troubles, so she was hoping to be able to guide her son away from the kind of trouble that she experienced in her younger years.
