Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, is being thrown back into the fire just after it appeared the "Hot N***a" rapper had caught a break. A few days ago, it was reported and confirmed by Shmurda's attorney Howard Greenberg that Pollard would have one of the gun charges against him dismissed. According to a report in XXL, which spoke to Kait Cornell of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor's Office, this was only temporary and the charges are now being brought up in the larger narcotics case from a June 2014 incident.

As XXL noted, the gun charge was initially dismissed by the Brooklyn district atorney's office because it is a procedural step in order to have the charge as a part of the Special Narcotics Case being tried in Manhattan.

The gun charge stems not from a barbershop shooting, as has been previously reported, but from a separate seizure where the police found the gun on the MC while conducting a search warrant.

Even if the charge had been dismissed, things were not looking good for Pollard and his GS9 crew. In addition to the gun charge, Pollard still faces charges of reckless endangerment in the second degree, conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of conspiracy in the third degree, and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia -- intent to sell and possession of narcotics. These stem from a long-term narcotics investigation run by the NYPD and a Brooklyn task force against the GS9. Pollard faces up to 25 years if convicted on conspiracy charges.

Even though he is being held behind bars at the Manhattan Detention Complex on $2 million bail, Schmurda is still finding ways to get music out to the world, recording a verse for a new song with Migos titled "Computers (Freestyle)," which features the rapper's bars behind bars in the same manner Lil Wayne made famous. The track is slated to be included on the upcoming Shmigo Gang mixtape.
