The organizers for the Isle of Wight Festival have released at least the first few names from the event's 2014 event. At least Friday's headliners are now known: Biffy Clyro.

"We are over the moon to announce that we will headline the Main Stage of the Isle of Wight Festival next year, on Friday June 13th," said vocalist and guitarist Simon Neil, clearly in awe. "To follow the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam is an honour. We cannot wait to get back to this iconic Festival, and this beautiful island!"

Biffy Clyro hasn't quite built up the same fan base in the United States as they have abroad, but its single "Many Of Horror" found some airplay during 2009. Meanwhile the band has continued to build its popularity in its native UK, headlining the Reading & Leeds Festival earlier during 2013.

Biffy Clyro will headline the first night of the festival, and producer Calvin Harris as well as Rudimental will also join the Friday night bill. Rudimental is a four-piece British electronic group that released its debut album in April of this year.

Two other acts were announced for the rest of the June weekend. Passenger, The 1975 and The Waterboys will also play, although no day has been assigned for their performances yet.

The Isle of Wight Festival will take place between June 13 and June 15. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, and will be available at a discounted price of £170 ($279.50).
