Van Halen will be releasing its first ever live album featuring primary vocalist David Lee Roth, an announcement that might surprise those less obsessed with the band's catalogue. The group had previously released only Live: Right Here, Right Now in 1993, featuring controversial replacement vocalist Sammy Hagar, who came into the group following the firing of Roth, who was present for the band's most acclaimed albums including Van Halen and 1984. The new release will jump on the bandwagon of live albums recorded in Japan, titled Tokyo Dome Live In Concert (from Rolling Stone)

The show was recorded during the band's stop abroad in Tokyo during 2013 and features 25 tracks. The album will consist of two CDs (or four LPs on 180-gram vinyl), and will of course be available digitally as well.

The compilation will become available on March 31, as will newly remastered versions of the aforementioned classic albums from the band. The rereleases will continue to roll out through Spring as Diver Down, Women and Children First Van Halen II and Fair Warning are scheduled to get touched up.

Will there be another run of shows to accompany the releases, perhaps even new music? No word yet. The band hasn't toured since that 2013 spate of shows.
