Faith No More debuted another new track off its upcoming album Sol Invictus. Bassist Bill Gould sat down with marvel.com to talk about "Superhero," a five-minute power jam that's equal parts brutal and menacing. The track is the band's second official single following "Motherf**ker."

Mike Patton screams during the verses as the band barrels through the song. He showcases his range, as usual, during the chorus. Drummer Mike Bordin is on top of his game and Jon Hudson's guitar work elevates the tune to a whole other level. Check out the track below.

"'Superhero' actually just started from the sound of the song, where it has these pounding drums and ... throbbing kind of pulse, and we just called it the 'Superhero' song," Gould explained. "Because a lot of the ways we write we visualize things. While we write music we're talking about chord changes and different things like that. What we do is we describe scenes together, and we can visualize the scene and the music kind of comes."

Sol Invictus, the group's seventh studio effort and first since 1997's Album of the Year, is due out March 17. Faith No More will look to reclaim some of its alt-metal glory with the new album and subsequent tour. Gould went on to say that he wants the album to sound like an updated version of the band and not some 1990s carbon copy.

"It sounds like we are in 2015 and it doesn't sound old, but at the same time it doesn't sound like some propelled record; it sounds like it's actually an album. That when you hear it, you feel something that's kind of classic," he added.

The tune, now available for download on iTunes, was accompanied by the album's artwork as well -- see above. The group also debuted another song, "Cone of Shame," last month.

Faith No More's North American tour kicks off next month in Vancouver.
