Kanye West and Kim Kardashian fanatics are stoked this morning as a new track titled "Awesome," apparently a tribute to the mother of North West, has leaked online. This comes in the aftermath of the reported theft of the rapper's laptop from a Paris Fashion Week event, leading many to believe that the thief may have posted the track (from SPIN).

West himself has not released a statement regarding the laptop or whether it was truly jacked, however G.O.O.D. Music representative Malik Yusef dropped an emphatic tweet early Wednesday morning.

"We have the PRIVATE INVESTIGATION FIRMS ON TOP OF @kanyewest STOLEN LAPTOP!!!!!" (actual number of exclamation points).

On one hand, the rapper himself may be keeping things quiet as to not encourage the thief to continue dropping tracks, which may or may not be meant for the forthcoming album So Help Me God. Then again, the whole idea of a stolen laptop may just be a publicity stunt to justify the leak of the new track. You would think that if a robber could hack into a user's account and find one new song, they'd be able to find a whole lot more. That might also explain why the announcement was made in headline-grabbing caps-lock format and not a calm, private entreaty to police.

In the meantime, what do we have in the form of "Awesome"? West fans with a good memory will recall that this song isn't exactly "new"...we just haven't heard a studio version of it yet. The emcee busted the track out at the Met "Punk: Chaos to Couture" gala during 2013.

That was prior to the release of Yeezus, and "Awesome" didn't make the cut there, so we shouldn't assume it'll end up on any other LPs soon. Then again, some of what we've heard from So Help Me God thus far has been a lot more touchy-feely than his last album, so why not?
