One hilarious running joke in the 1999 comedy Office Space involved pop veteran Michael Bolton. A character of the same name was constantly asked if he was related to the singer, or if he knew him or if he liked his music. Someone over at Funny or Die decided to recreate a few scenes from the film with the real Michael Bolton playing the Michael Bolton role. Fans of the movie, get ready to feel nostalgic.

Bolton appears in four scenes from the movie in the video below. First up is the introduction to the joke when he accepts papers as "Michael Bolton" and goes on a huge tirade about putting up with people bringing up the singer for the rest of his life -- the real Bolton adds a line about how "extremely talented" the performer is. Then the singer sits through a performance review, where the two bosses gush over his work. Bolton also takes part in the most iconic scene in the movie, when the three main characters destroy a fax machine.

Check out the video below and be sure to watch all of it to see Bolton lip-sync a few rap verses.

Since its release, Office Space has become a cult classic. The movie did not perform well at the box office, but it did make back its production budget, according to Box Office Mojo. It went on to sell well after its release to home video. Creator Mike Judge worked on Beavis and Butthead prior to the movie and went on to create King of the Hill, Extract and Idiocracy. The director is currently at the helm of HBO's contemporary workplace comedy series Silicon Valley.

Judge spoke to Deadline last year about the similarities between Office Space and Silicon Valley.

"There's a new corporate culture, that wasn't the same as there was in 1998-99 when I made Office Space, so that is what's fun to make fun of," he said. "I think that might be why Silicon Valley feels similar to Office Space for people. I don't use the word satire too much in my daily life, but I guess that's what I'm doing."
