It's been almost 14 months since Rihanna released her seventh studio album Unapologetic, which is the longest amount of time the prolific pop star has gone without releasing new material. So as logic would dictate, it seems like the "What Now" singer is back in the studio to work on her eighth LP, and according to a new interview, she's collaborating with none other than club hit maker DJ Mustard.

"I've got a thing going with Rihanna. I'm gonna do a lot with my labelmates" DJ Mustard told HipHollywood in a video interview. When the journalist then asked if he was working on something for her next album, he answered, "Of course it is. We going straight to the club. Whatever I do go straight to the club."

Not only is it no surprise that Rihanna is working on a new album, but it should also come as no surprise that she's teaming up with DJ Mustard. In November, it was announced that DJ Mustard, born Dijon McFarlane, had signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation label, where the likes of J Cole, and of course Rihanna, also have record deals.

No other information is currently available about Rihanna's follow-up to Unapologetic other than the DJ Mustard collaboration and the "club" like vibes (that fans could expect anyway). However, it is likely that the record could drop before the end of the year.

As she works on her eighth album and enjoys some time off, Rihanna currently sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for the 13th time with her Eminem-led single "The Monster."
