Though The Black Keys promised that Patrick Carney's shoulder injury would make him good to go on tour starting in April, it turns out the "Weight of Love" band has been forced to cancel more live dates.

Carney's shoulder injury, which happened when he was swimming on vacation in January, has face unforeseen complications, according to Billboard. After 10 weeks of treatment, the drummer is now facing Adhesive Capsulitis (known as "frozen shoulder"), a condition that causes stiffness in the joints.

Doctors have advised Carney from going back on tour, causing The Black Keys to cancel festival dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

"We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through April 23," The Black Keys said in a statement. "Patrick sustained a dislocated and broken shoulder in January that required surgery. Working with the doctors, surgeons and physiotherapists since January, we had expected Patrick to be ready to return to touring in April. The recovery process and physical therapy has taken longer than anticipated and unfortunately Patrick is still unable to perform and needs additional time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their ongoing support and we look forward to getting back on the road as soon as possible."

Despite Carney's injury, The Black Keys are still scheduled for live engagements after April 24, which include headlining shows at Governors Ball, Primavera Sound and Isle of Wight Festival.
