Brad Paisley has never been shy about his classic rock influences. The country superstar stopped by The Bobby Bones Show earlier this month to play a cover of Eric Clapton's hit "Layla." Paisley opted for a version closer to the acoustic cut from 1992's MTV Unplugged performance rather than the 1970 original, Taste of Country noted.

The reverent cover was condensed a bit, with Paisley adding the slightest bit of twang to the vocals. Following a bluesy guitar break, Paisley asked if anyone knew the third verse. Instead, he returned to the comfort of the chorus and finished strong. Take a listen to the country singer's version below.

As Rolling Stone noted, Paisley treated audiences last year to a few choice parts of songs by Guns N' Roses, Deep Purple and Van Halen.

The country crooner dropped his 10th studio album, Moonshine in the Trunk, in August. It hit No. 39 on the Top Country Albums chart behind singles like "Perfect Storm" and "River Bank." Carrie Underwood and Emmylou Harris joined Paisley on the album.

Paisley will hit the road this summer on his Crushin' It Tour starting in May. Check out the first few dates below or consult the rest of the schedule here.
