Niall Horan of One Direction has confirmed that the group is working on the follow-up to Four despite recently losing member Zayn Malik. The group met with its record label to discuss the planning of the next album, scheduling a few writing sessions for the fifth LP. Horan sent the tweet from South Africa, where 1D is currently touring.

"Had a sit down last night with the label, started organising our writing sessions for the next album! F**k yeaaaahhhh! Can't wait!" he tweeted, Billboard noted.

Horan was the only member to share details about the plans for the fifth album. The other singers thanked fans on Twitter for voting for the group at the Kids' Choice Awards. The group took home the oragne blimp for Favorite Music Group.

Malik spoke to The Sun following the announcement that he would be leaving the group. The singer hinted that he had been unhappy being in One Direction for "a while" because he wanted to pursue other creative outlets.

"I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other's people's happiness," he said in the interview. "And that was mainly the fans. I only ever tried to do it for the fans. I'm only upset [because] I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way."

The singer, who has shown his interest in moving toward the hip-hop side of things, is working on a debut solo effort with producer Naughty Boy. He denied that there were any problems between him and the other members of the boy band.

"They couldn't be more wrong," he said of the rumored issues. "My band has been really supportive. They've been cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it's not real to me anymore."
