The only thing sadder than the untimely death by suicide of Robin Williams last summer might be the fact that his family is now battling over his estate. Supposedly, Williams laid out specific instructions about how things were to be divided up, but his widow Susan Schneider and three children Zak, Zelda and Cody are at distinct odds. Last December, Schneider filled court documents alleging that the children removed things from her home without permission. They then responded to that filing saying that they were simply following their father's wishes. They are still battling in court over his estate.

According to a report by Page Six, "The attorneys are scheduled to appear before a San Francisco probate judge on Monday, [March 30,] as they argue over who should get clothes and other personal items the actor kept at one of his northern California homes. In papers filed in December, Williams's wife, Susan, says some of the late actor's personal items were taken without her permission. She has asked the court to exclude the contents of the San Francisco Bay area home she shared with Williams from the jewelry, memorabilia and other items Williams said the children should have," explained a source.

Previous reports regarding the estate have basically said that, according to Williams, through careful planning his children were to receive jewelry, his watch collection and memorabilia connected to his career. Schneider was to be given much of what they accumulated during their two-year marriage, including a home free and clear, furniture, etc.

It is really awful that months after a person dies this kind of situation still plays out. It sounds like Williams was actually quite fair with his wife, doesn't it? Do you think the bulk of his estate belongs with his children? Do you think Schneider really is trying to stand in the way of her husband's final wishes?
