New Orleans rapper Curren$y -- born Shante Scott Franklin -- has shared a new track, "Life 2 Die For," featuring the production work of Purpdogg. "Life 2 Die For" comes on the heels of the release of Curren$y's highly anticipated LP Pilot Talk 3, the third edition of his celebrated album series Pilot Talk. The new single is presumably a leftover from the album, but was too good to leave gathering dust in a hard drive, so they released it.

Purpdogg lays down a laid-back beat for Spitta with a smooth saxophone sample, while Franklin delivers another excellent, chilled-out addition to his easy flowing discography:

In the satin Starter
Oakland A's I remember when my brother bought it
Back in the days you get killed if you ain't come off it
That or them J's n***a hungry if you wit soften
You just a plate doggy, bag

Feed my killas, keep them enemies from sleepin' with you
Peep me n***a, see me richer than I was, continuously coming up
They can't f**k with us, that's why they pray I f**k it up
All the hating does is make me show more love

Curren$y released his latest LP Pilot Talk 3 last week. Fans who have $100 can purchase the album, which arrives on a USB drive, as well as a look book, apparel and other merchandise. For those of you who do not have that kind of money to spend on a music pack, you can stream it over at XXL. The album features the likes of Wiz Khalifa and RiFF RAFF.

Spitta is currently in the midst of his Pilot Talk 3 tour across the United States, which will take him to cities like Austin, Cincinnati, Houston, Detroit and Louisville, finishing April 25 in Los Angeles. The April 20 date in Houston will be special for obvious reasons. See the full list of tour dates here.
