Police in Las Vegas arrested Three 6 Mafia member Crunchy Black this week for possession of meth. According to TMZ, officials stopped the rapper after he crossed an intersection while a "do not cross" light was flashing. They searched him and found the narcotics, to which he reportedly said he had tried to buy cocaine, not meth.

Black -- aka Darnell Carlton -- also got hit with a charge of providing a fake name to police along with the drug charge. The Oscar winner has two outstanding warrants for arrest in addition to being wanted in Minnesota for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

Three 6 Mafia dropped Last 2 Walk in 2008 before taking a break. Some of the original members got back together, Black included, and put out Watch What U Wish in March as Da Mafia 6ix.

The group's crowning moment came in 2006 when they won the Best Original Song Oscar for "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from Hustle and Flow. They had dropped one of their biggest hits, "Stay Fly," a year earlier and went on to provide songs for Jackass 2 ("Goin' Crazy") and Rocky Balboa ("It's a Fight").

Black's arrest for possession of meth comes a few days after police found the same drug on Nelly's tour bus. The drugs and handguns were directly linked to the rapper because there were multiple people in the vehicle.

"Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee," the performer's attorney said in a statement. "In fact, there had been 15 to 20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband -- MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy -- was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."
