De La Soul not only reached their Kickstarter goal to fund their eighth album, but they ended up with about four times (and counting) the funding that they had originally asked for with ten days left to go still. To celebrate, they've released a new song called "God It," featuring none other than Nas on the hook. Unfortunately, however, this track won't make it on the album, but it's a taste of what's to come.

The legendary group posted the song to SoundCloud with a note: "While busy at work, we also like to play! This song is not from the new album, but an indication of the good music to come... Just a little appetizer until we complete the main course. You may recognize our featured guest. Enjoy."

"When we glide the world, what we tellin' 'em? (Still god it baby boy) / Within' the loudest crowds, what we yell at 'em? / (Still god it baby boy) / Walk amongst the people, what they eyes sayin'? / (Still god it baby boy) / Those that thought they were equal, they demise sayin' (Still god it baby boy)," Posdnuos and Nas declare on the hook.

The upcoming album, De La Soul's first studio album in 11 years, features collaborations with 2 Chainz, Little Dragon, Damon Albarn, David Byrne and more.

The group gives fans insight to what they have in store for the new album on their Kickstarter site, saying, "This new album will incorporate elements of Jazz, Funk, Rock, Country Western and anything else we're feeling in the moment. To us, music is the influence of sounds, sounds in all vibrations and sizes, telling a story or pointing a direction."
