Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews co-wrote Witness Uganda--a story of a young New York City local named Griffin who volunteers for a Ugandan project to try and change the world. The play, now, has garnered enough attention and praise to receive the coveted Richard Rogers Production Award for Musical Theater.

Word from the head offices at the American Academy of Arts and Letters trickled down to news outlets on February 3. The announcement left theater goers feeling vindicated.

Witness Uganda explores concepts which delve into the legitimacy and feasibility of trying to change the world and the complex realities that come with it. I say, that is quite a heavy plot for the small stage.
