The comedic talents, endless entertainment and lifelong legacy of Chris Farley will be the focus of the latest documentary titled I Am Chris Farley. Detailing the 33 years Farley spent on earth, up until his unexpected death, the film following his quick rise to fame is set to premiere on Spike TV on Aug. 10 — to hold fans over until then, the first, sentimental trailer has been released.

"Success in show business does not always create the best version of people," Bob Saget cautions in the Brent Hodge and Derik Murray-directed documentary.

Exploring his rise to notoriety from Saturday Night Live to the big screen, the film features countless interviews from the comedians closet friends and peers from his SNL days including David Spade, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Molly Shannon and Bob Odenkirk, along with his brother John. I Am Chris Farley is built around the plethora of footage in which he's on stage and in character, especially as his well known alter-ego of Matt Foley.

"You can't walk around being funny all the time. You have to be yourself sometimes, and you have to be alone sometimes," Odenkirk says, notes Rolling Stone. The Tommy Boy actor remains to be held in the highest esteem in the eyes of SNL producer, Lorne Michaels, whose seen the best of the best in the comedy industry. "There's a category of people that I've worked with that are infuriatingly talented. As long as they're in this world, I think you always recognize whatever it is when you see it," Michaels says. "You're always drawn to it."

Be ready to reach for the box of tissues in between roars of laughter while looking through clips of the unforgettable comedian who passed away in 1997 due to a drug overdose. Following the Spike debut of I Am Chris Farley, the film will be released on VOD starting Aug. 11, according to Mediaite.
