We woke up with a pair of juicy collaboration rumors this Monday morning, respectively suggesting pairings between The Weeknd and Kanye West, and Britney Spears and DJ Mustard. Let's consider each of these rumors in turn.

Let's start with West and the Weeknd. This rumor is especially excellent because neither of the performers involved were the ones who brought it to light...it was Ed Sheeran, while recording an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 radio. How did he come across such knowledge? According to the pop guitarist, he was attending a party at Weeknd's pad in Toronto, where the R&B star apparently asked Sheeran to stick around and record a song. Here's where the drop comes: Sheeran expressed his surprise to Lowe, noting that Weeknd hardly ever brings in guest stars. After all, there's only one guest on the performer's forthcoming Chapter III, and it's Kanye West.

Sheeran forgot that this in-house "common knowledge" hadn't gotten to us commoners yet. Now all we can do is wait until the album finally drops. It's rumored to be released at some point this summer.

Speaking of performers who last released an album during 2013, fans of Spears are curious when the performer will drop a new record. According to DJ Mustard, he's been working with the pop star on a new track. He described the track as "harder than hard. It's a movie."

The move can't hurt. As you may have read from some recent tabloid headlines, the performer didn't get much out of "Pretty Girls," her recent single featuring Iggy Azalea. Mustard's thick beats have been gold for rappers recently (and Azalea's hit-of-the-summer "Fancy" is suspiciously similar to his style). Perhaps he can light a fire under listeners for Spears as well.

Of course, she's got a full calendar thanks to her Las Vegas residency, so who knows when she'll look to drop a new album to tour with.
