Last night (July 21), Twitter blew up when Meek Mill fired cannonballs at Drake claiming that the Toronto native doesn't write his own raps, notably the lines on their Dreams Worth More Than Money collab "R.I.C.O." This shocked the world that Mill would go after a colleague like that, but in a new interview posted today by BBC Radio 1Xtra, this is not the first time Meek Mill has broached the topic of other rappers not writing their own rhymes.

Mill sat down with BBC Radio One's Charlie Sloth at Hot 97's Summer Jam at Metlife Stadium last month, and the topic of rappers using ghostwriters came up. Mill echoed his same sentiment that rappers not writing their own words is pretty widespread, a dirty little "secret" known to those on the inside, but something many fans don't want to admit. As he says, "A lot or people don't write, and its that bad."

Mill appears to be out on a truth-searching quest to separate the real rappers from the pop stars who have a mindboggling number of writing credits on their album.

Meek went off last night alleging that Drake doesn't write his own lyrics and he would have taken the "Energy" rapper's verse off of the album if he had known it was ghostwritten. He denies that it has anything to do with the fact that Drake didn't promote the album on his socials, but Mill is just trying to out the fakes.

The irony if the whole situation is that he calls out Drake for not writing, but then he puts Diddy on the final track of Dreams Worth More Than Money, "Cold Hearted," who has been very open about his extensive use of ghostwriters in the past.

Drake hasn't commented on the situation yet.
