Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig took things down a notch at the 2014 Oscars Sunday night (March 2). The two indie rock singers performed a quiet, acoustic take on the Best Original Song nominated track "The Moon Song."

In a stunning red dress with a messy bun and matching crimson lipstick, O sat alongside a tuxedo-donning Koenig on a simple pair of stairs as he strummed a guitar.

A pair of beige heels sat beside O. Fittingly, the a massive projection of the moon shined behind the duo, creating an intimate ambience, despite the Oscars tens of millions of viewers at home.

Much like the original, studio version of "The Moon Song" (which features Her director Spike Jonze), the performances was simplistic and sweet with perfectly light vocals.

O and Koenig released their version of "The Moon Song" last month.

"The Moon Song" is nominated alongside Pharrell Williams' "Happy," Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" and U2's "Ordinary Love" for the Best Original Song at the 2014 Oscars. The performance was the second of the night, following Pharrell's energetic take on "Happy."
