It's been shocking to watch the father-son relationship between Birdman and Lil Wayne collapse right before our eyes, especially with such vitriol. It started with a few tweets from Wayne pleading for his freedom from the Cash Money "prison." Those tweets soon turned into a $51 million lawsuit against the label and its CEO, Birdman, which, as of now, still hasn't been resolved. Somehow, things got even worse after the lawsuit as a recent indictment named Birdman as a co-conspirator, along with Young Thug, in a plot to shoot up Wayne's tour bus. Today, finally, it seems Birdman has given his first apology to Wayne -- or, at least, his first attempt at reconciliation.

In his first interview since the onset of the Wayne drama, Birdman expressed no wrongdoing on his part and ultimately underplayed the conflict between him and Wayne. He told Angie Martinez that if his "son" really wants to leave Cash Money (which most onlookers thought was obvious), he would let him, though he maintained it would be impossible for Wayne to take Drake and Nicki Minaj, the two biggest artists on his Young Money imprint, with him. He also seemed to imply that their current lawsuit could be resolved.

Just over a week ago, Birdman debuted a new brand on his Instagram, "CMRG," or Cash Money Rich Gang. The absence of "YM," or Young Money, from the new acronym seemed to imply Birdman's detachment from Wayne's subsidiary label, or at least the prioritization of Rich Gang, but Birdman's latest Instagram makes it look like he wants to bring Wayne, and Young Money, back into the Cash Money family.

The Instagram shows Birdman standing next to a picture of Lil Wayne, looking down while scratching his chin. The caption reads, "4 Life LFLS YMCMB." Thus, it seems Young Money, and Young Money Cash Money Billionaires, is a brand Birdman is intent on keeping. In addition, "LFLS" likely stands for "like father like son," a bond Birdman believes he will share with Wayne "4 Life."

The post also comes about a week after Jimmy Winfrey, aka PeeWee Roscoe, who's currently in jail as the primary suspect of the tour bus shooting, allegedly claimed that the shooting was the result of Birdman's financial dispute with Wayne -- insinuating that Bird should be held responsible. Those "court documents," though, were simply alluded to by TMZ and we haven't seen any other proof of Winfrey confessing to his role in the incident or of "snitching" on Birdman. A few days ago, a new indictment charged Winfrey with terroristic threats for allegedly telling Wayne he would "spray his bus."

However the drama finally plays out, it's nice to see Birdman and Wayne side by side again for even a little while.
