Schoolboy Q has become virtually inescapable since the release of his TDE debut Oxymoron, which has debuted No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Q recently sat down with Jay Z's Life+Times series DECODED to break down the lyrics of one of Oxymoron's standout tracks "Hoover Street."

On the track "Hoover Street," Q raps about the robbery, violence and his upbringing. As he breaks down the lyrics to the track, it becomes evident that two people play a significant role in Q's childhood memories: his grandmother and his uncle.

"My uncle, I've seen this before, like he stole something from my grandmother," Q recalls. "I can't remember what, I was a kid but my grandma was arguing with him loud as f**k. He was a crack addict. He like has it in his hand. He's not tryna like walk off too hard 'cause he knows she's old. He doesn't want her to fall. He's like trying to hold on but still doesn't want to let her fall. And I remember that s**t, she fell. And that was just crazy to me like damn that n***a is addicted to that. He just robbed his mother in front of his mother, drop her, don't even help her up, say 'you ok' while she's on the ground. She looks up, he walks out."

But that isn't the only memory Q recalls of his grandmother.

While breaking down the "Hoover Street" lyrics, he says that his grandmother was "a tab bit bad influence" on him.
