Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds released a pair of new songs Friday, the single "Lock All The Doors" and the B-side honky-tonk surprise "Here's A Candle (For Your Birthday Cake)."  These were also released for streaming online and you can listen to them here.

The first is a rockin' anthem largely in line with the Oasis frontman's usual style, but "Here's a Candle (For Your Birthday)" comes straight out of a honky-tonk bar in a surprising move that's made all the more wild because it actually works. Gallagher sounds like the country side of The Rolling Stones on this tune, a statement that seems like blasphemy given the band's usual borderline Beatles impersonations. This new country tune even features a kazoo solo.

"Lock All The Doors" is less of a surprise as the group performed the song at The Dome back in July. However, just because it isn't a surprise doesn't make it any less welcome. "Lock all the doors, maybe they'll never find us..." Gallagher sings on the driving tune, which sounds like the band back to form on some great song writing.

The band's album Chasing Yesterday came out in February of this year to solid critical acclaim in the U.S. but far greater commercial success in the U.K. The album went to No. 1 on the U.K. album chart and peaked at 35 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Chasing Yesterday is the second solo project from Gallagher who gained fame in the 90s and 2000s for his work in Oasis and now looks to distinguish himself as a solo artist. The album is the fastest selling record of 2015 in the U.K. and was the best-selling album on Amazon for this year back in April.

You can purchase the seven inch Lock All The Doors limited edition yellow vinyl off the band's website for $8.99 or listen to the tracks for free on YouTube or Spotify. Alternatively, simply scroll down and hear them both now.
