ACC Commissioner John Swofford explained the big opening day, saying, "With our conference expansion this year, we felt it was important to do something special to celebrate the start of this historic, 15-team ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament. Having the opportunity to purchase a single ticket for Wednesday that includes three ACC basketball games and a performance by one of the rising young stars in the recording industry offers a tremendous value to our fans."
