The GMA (Gospel Music Association) has announced the date of the GMA Honors Ceremony. The inaugural ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville at 7 p.m.. The gala event will celebrate the careers of those being inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame as well as individuals and organizations that are "impacting our culture globally both past and present." Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant, two of CCM's legends, are the first performers announced for the ceremony, with more to be added closer to the event.

In 2014, the GMA will induct producer Brown Bannister, Take 6 and The Gaither Vocal Band into the Hall of Fame. Rich Mullins, the man who penned "Awesome God," will be inducted posthumously. The first ever Honors recipients include Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones, International praise and worship leader Don Moen, tour pastor Michael Guido and world-renowned non-profit organizations Show Hope and World Vision.

Individual or full tables are available for purchase, which include full dinner service with our honorees and guests. Contact the GMA office at Service@gospelmusic.org. General admission tickets are also available for purchase online for $25 each.

John Huie, CAA and Co-Chair of GMA Honors shared the vision behind the event in a press release, saying, "The idea was to expand the GMA induction ceremony to include many talented artists and organizations that are making a substantial contribution through Christian music. Although this is the first year for GMA Honors we are getting a lot of strong industry support.

“The GMA Foundation is charged with observing our gospel music history and its trailblazers,” added Jackie Patillo, Executive Director of GMA. “We have looked at all of our events with the desire to better serve our music community. I am grateful to John Huie, Gary Glover and Jay Powers, the Co-Chairs of GMA Honors, for their vision and labor of love, along with Jamie Shankland and the Lipscomb production team and Salem communication for their media partnership. Together we have retooled this event and it is going to be a very memorable evening.”
