Wendy Williams' son Lil Kev has grown up right before our eyes. It seems like it was just yesterday that she was taking him on family vacations to Disney World. Now she sending him out the country to have a holistic detox after catching him smoking synthetic weed.

Talk show host Wendy Williams could talk "Hot Topics," with her audience, a segment from her daytime talk show, all day, every day. She dishes on what's happening in the news during every live taping of her show without missing a beat and she doesn't discriminate. Her Hot Topics segments covers the good the bad and the ugly, even when it comes down to her own family.

On her first day back for season 7 of The Wendy Williams Show, MTO reported that she revealed a lot about what's going on with her son Kevin Hunter, Jr. The site reported that she caught Lil Kev, now a teenager, with synthetic marijuana, a drug that Williams says he was introduced to by a close loved one that "he looked up to."

Lipstick Alley reported that Kevin Jr used a vape pen to smoke the synthetic drug and according to Williams, she was "duped" thinking that her son was on the right path. She told the audience, "it was one of those pens where you don't see the smoke and you don't smell anything." She continued by telling how he was "turned out and went off the rail."

"We have always kept it real, me and you," she explained to a shocked audience. "...We didn't want to pump him with psychiatric drugs and all that other kind of mess. I'm glad to say that our boy is on the good side of good now."

The talk show host had her stint with drugs in the past which could be the reason why she responded in the manner that she did -- immediately taking her son out of the country to have holistic treatment. Or it could have everything to do with the dangers of smoking synthetic marijuana, which some still have questions about, such as, "what is synthetic marijuana?"

Health US News released an article on the drug which "goes by street names such as "K2," "Spice" and "Green Giant," stating that there have been several cases of young men being admitted to the hospital with similar symptoms, all violent and confused and all having one drug testing positive in their system - synthetic marijuana. The report says that the drug is "...not made using just one chemical [it] can be made with nearly 100 different chemicals that are often sprayed onto dried, shredded plant material." The substance is manufactured in a lab and is typically sold at bodegas or corner stores for about $5.

That sounds like enough to make a sane man go crazy and Williams and husband Kevin Hunter didn't want that for their son so out the country you go Lil Kev.

The "How You Doin'" star explained her reason for telling the world about her son was to inform other families of what is going on with teenagers these days. The information may just help another family.

"It can happen to me. It can happen to you. It can happen to many," she explained. I just want you to know." Williams urged viewers to go to wendyshow.com for more information.
