Kurt Vile is set to drop his new album b'lieve i'm goin down... on Friday (Sept. 25) but you can listen to the full record now ahead of the official release via four commercial free radio stations: KEXP in Seattle, WXPN in Philadelphia, WFUV in New York City and The Current KCMP in Minneapolis.
Vile's experimental folk rock sound has garnered him as one of the most celebrated musicians in the past decade with albums such as 2008's Constant Hitmaker, 2011's Smoke Ring For My Halo and his highly acclaimed 2013 album Walkin' On A Pretty Daze.
The album's first single "Pretty Pimpin" came out earlier this summer alongside a laidback music video of Vile and clones of himself playing guitar around a California home and leaning against a yellow muscle car. As the lead song off the album, its sets the tone for the rest of the record with layered guitar riffs and wacky introspective lyrics.
"I woke up this morning didn't recognize the man in the mirror/ Then I laughed and I said, 'Oh silly me, that's just me' / then I proceeded to brush some stranger's teeth/ but they were my teeth, and I was weightless/ Just quivering like some leaf come in the window of a restroom," he sings on the track.
The new album, b'lieve i'm goin down..., is out Friday via Matador Records and is available for preorder on his website, where you can also see his full ist of tour dates.
