Elton John has always been one to keep his ear to the street and with Pharrell and Kanye West on fire right now, Sir Elton is looking to work with one of the rappers on his forthcoming album.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the legendary singer spoke about possibly working with the "Happy" rapper.

"I might do a couple of tracks with Pharrell," he said. Although he says nothing is set in stone, Sir Elton seems highly interested in working with him.

Elton John also described his interest in alternative styles of music like hip-hop and electronica.

"For me, I'd have to work with someone who knows about it, like a Pharrell or a Kanye, who I respect tremendously," he added. "I'd love to do that. It's just a matter of when and where and, should I do it, the mood that I'm in. You can never tell. It's happenstance and luck, basically."

During his interview, his talks of Kanye brought up memories of their time in the studio together.

Elton John recalled being in the studio with Yeezy while he was recording My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Elton says he truly felt like he was in the presence of greatness. A bold statement from a man of his stature in the music world, here's what he had to say:

"In the studio with Kanye, when I was doing that in Honolulu, he was just on fire," he said. "It was amazing to watch. You knew you were in the presence of greatness. I knew once I heard four or five tracks from that in the studio, I knew it was going to be a motherf----r of a record."
