At the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles Monday night, Beck, Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan and Cat Power put their star-power together to execute an Echo in the Canyon tribute gig to classic California artists of the Sixties. Acts covered included the Beach Boys, the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Jakob Dylan was notched as the leader of the Echo in the Canyon show, which was loosely connected to the 50th anniversary of Mr. Tambourine Man, the Byrds' 1965 debut album. Dylan's father, the iconic Bob Dylan, penned the album's title track.

Beck and the younger Dylan teamed up for two pleasant covers of the Byrds, which was recorded via fan-shot footage. The duo swapped vocals and executed lovely harmonies on "Goin' Back," which was followed up with an authentic rendition of "The Bells of Rhymney." Dylan also joined forces with Cat Power for a version of "You Showed Me," recorded by the Turtles and written by the Byrds' Gene Clark and Roger McGuinn. The pair followed the tune with a soulful execution of the Association's "Never My Love."

Other short clips from the Los Angeles gig made their way online, boasting Fiona Apple's striking performances of the Byrds' "It Won't Be Wrong" and the Beach Boys' "In My Room." Jade Castrinos, former member of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, stormed the stage alongside Dylan, Beck and Regina Spektor to cover the classic The Mamas and the Papas track, "Monday, Monday." Castrinos also offered strong vocals on "Dedicated to the One I Love" and "Go Where You Wanna Go," as LA Weekly reports.

For fans hoping to watch full-length versions of the performances and the entire set, the concert was filmed for a video release in conjunction with the release of the Echo in the Canyon studio compilation. The LP will unveil in 2016, boasting the same line-up of musicians. Cat Power and Dylan's take on "You Showed Me" is now available for streaming on SoundCloud.
