Manchester City came out with a win over Sevilla this week after one of the more exciting UEFA Champions League games, but fans of the Barclays Premier League standings leaders have caused some trouble for manager Manuel Pellegrini and his team. Fans at the game booed the UEFA anthem at the start of the match in protest of the organization's treatment of the club over the years, which has led to a fine on the team. According to Express, UEFA fined Manchester City under Financial Fair Play rules, which has since been lifted, but the tradition of booing the anthem has remained. Apparently, UEFA isn't happy about it.

Icelandic Football Association President Geir Thorsteinsson reported the fans to UEFA, but had very little to say when The Telegraph caught up with him and asked about the fine.

"I'm not allowed to speak about my reports to UEFA," he said. "I cannot speak about this. Sorry, you have to respect it."

Responding to the news, Manchester City Supporters Club (MCSC) chairman Alan Galley was happy to share his frustrations with the organization.

"It's petty when you think about it, isn't it, when there are people there at UEFA who are being accused of walking off with millions, that we get done for just a few fans booing," he explained.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini refused to badmouth his fans, even though they were responsible for this fine his team is now facing.

The hearing for this case takes place next month, and we're expecting Manchester City to fight the fine. You can check out a short Vine video taken from the stands that captures the booing during the Champions League anthem right here:
